Which passport do you hold?

Risk to a traveller depends on their nationality. A country that sanctions your destination, or is sanctioned by it, changes how you are treated on arrival. Choosing here adjusts every score on the site.

We hold travel advice written for four nationalities so far. Selecting anything else shows the neutral baseline, and every page says so where it applies rather than presenting it as an assessment made for you.

Scope and limits

What this is

Indicative, automatically computed assessments of cyber risk to travellers, country by country. The scoring engine is open source and every published score can be recomputed from the published data by anyone. That is deliberate: a risk rating you cannot check is one you have to take on trust, and this project has not earned any.

What this is not

This is not advice. Not professional, security, legal or travel advice. It creates no client relationship and no duty of care.

It is not a substitute for official government travel advice. Consult your own government before travelling. Where our assessment and an official advisory disagree, the official advisory carries the authority.

It is not fit for life safety decisions. Do not use it where a wrong answer could result in injury, detention or loss of liberty without verifying independently.

No warranty

Provided as is, without warranty of any kind, including any warranty of accuracy, completeness or fitness for a particular purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by law we accept no liability for loss arising from reliance on this information. Nothing here excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Statements about countries

Assessments describe legal frameworks, documented capabilities and reported incidents, each attributed to a named public source. They are not allegations against any individual, and no individual is named. Where a source characterises a state practice, we report and attribute that characterisation rather than adopting it.

Corrections

If an assessment is wrong, out of date, or rests on a source we have misread, tell us: the country, the specific claim, and a source. Corrections are handled in public.

Where a correction is accepted we fix it at the source of the error, so a wrong mapping is corrected for every country it affects rather than only the one reported. Scores are not adjusted because a government or company objects to them. They are corrected because the evidence is wrong.

Jurisdiction

Operated from the United Kingdom, governed by the laws of England and Wales.
